Angeline Gale Scholarship

Each year since 1971 AAUW Naperville Area has offered the Angeline Gale Scholarship. Named in memory of Angeline Gale, an educator and the founder of our branch, the intent of the scholarship is to encourage women to engage in scholarly pursuits, even when their education may have been interrupted for various reasons.

To qualify for the Angeline Gale Scholarship, applicants must: (a) be women at least 26 years of age; (b) be enrolled in an undergraduate degree program at an accredited institution; © have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0; and (d) EITHER (1) be on track to graduate by December of the year the scholarship is awarded if enrolled in an associate degree program, OR (2) achieve junior status by the application deadline if enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program.

Applicants must reside in or attend school in DuPage, Will, Kendall or Kane Counties in Illinois. Other criteria apply. Applications are due March 31, 2021. Selections will be made by April 30, 2021. Funds will be available shortly thereafter and will be forwarded directly to the college or university in which the awardee is enrolled.
