Illinois Retired Teachers Association
Illinois Retired Teachers Foundation Scholarship:
1. An application must be postmarked no later than March 7 and mailed to the IRTA office prior to a student’s junior or senior year in college. The student must be accepted into a Teacher Certification Program in order to receive IRT Foundation Scholarship funding.
2. Applicants must be a resident of Illinois or have graduated from an Illinois high school.
3. Applicants may attend school in any state as long as the school attended maintains an accredited Teacher Training program.
4. Applicants must have and maintain at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
5. The recipient must furnish a copy of the university or college official transcript prior to receiving funds.
Moler-Austin Scholarship:
1. The student must be accepted into a Teacher Certification Program in order to receive IRTF scholarship funding.
2. Applicants must be graduates of a Kendall County, Illinois high school. Recipients of the Moler-Austin scholarship must submit proof of graduation from a Kendall County high school before receiving funds.
3. Applicants must have a declared major in education.
4. Applicants must be enrolled in an Illinois college or university.
5. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA or higher on a 4.0 scale.
6. Applicants must provide official college/university transcripts prior to receiving funds.

- "Six $1,500 scholarships to incoming juniors and seniors (one from each Area). Two $3,000 awards (one from Area 4 and one from Area 6). Moler-Austin Scholarship: $4,500 ($2,250 per semester)"
