Michael Glenn Bieritz Annual Scholarship for Nursing

The Michael Glenn Bieritz Annual Scholarship for Nursing scholarship is open to students who have been accepted into the Waubonsee Nursing program, are district residents, have financial need, and demonstrate involvement in their community. Michael G. Bieritz was born with cerebral palsy. Throughout 59 (almost 60) years of life, he endured many surgeries and hospitalizations. Through it all, he was pure joy! Joy-seeking. Joy-giving. Joy-full. His smile could light up a room and his laughter was contagious. The last two weeks of Mike’s life were spent in the hospital, where he was lovingly cared for by some amazing nurses who graduated from Waubonsee Community College. It is due to the outstanding care from his nurses that his sisters wish to establish this scholarship in Mike’s name. The scholarship may cover all or part of tuition and required course fees and may also provide support for required books for credit courses.
