McGreal Family Scholarship
The McGreal Family Scholarship is open to students who have at least a 2.0 GPA and are pursuing one of the following programs: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Technician (PCT), Human Services, or Nursing. Applicants will be asked to submit a brief essay (250-500 words) on the importance of patient-centered care. The McGreal Family Scholarship honors the legacy of James J. and Kerstin I. McGreal and their unwavering belief in compassion, dignity, and respect for others. Its mission is to support the next generation of caregivers dedicated to improving the quality of life for older adults by helping fund the necessary training and education. We believe in the power of dignified, compassionate, and person-centered care. This scholarship supports students who feel called to serve older adults and individuals with long-term care needs — students who understand that every person has a story, preferences, and inherent worth. Our hope is to help nurture caregivers who bring both skill and heart to their work, and to help them feel supported, encouraged, and strengthened as they grow in this meaningful profession. The scholarship may cover all or part of tuition and required course fees and may also provide support for required books for credit courses.
