Hansen-Furnas Foundation Scholarship
The Hansen-Furnas Foundation Scholarship is open to students who have financial need and are enrolled in an Associates of Applied Science degree under the college’s Industry and Manufacturing program area. The Hansen-Furnas Foundation was founded in 1960 by William Carlyle Furnas and his wife, Leto M. Furnas to support local charities and provide scholarship funds to support the pursuit of higher education. The Foundation recognizes the financial burden that is imposed on students just beginning their college education to further their careers. The Hansen-Furnas Foundation wishes to partially alleviate that burden , as well as encourage worthwhile individuals to further their education, by providing annual scholarships to deserving applicants. Recognizing the importance of education in the trades, the Foundation decided to offer this scholarship assistance to students of the trades at Waubonsee Community College. The scholarship may cover all or part of tuition and required course fees and may also provide support for required books for credit courses.
