Justin "The Tank" Speer Scholarship

The Justin “The Tank” Speer Scholarship is open to students who are graduates of Oswego High School or Oswego East High School and have successfully completed automotive classes at either school. Applicants must be enrolled in Waubonsee’s Automotive Technology program, have a minimum 2.5 GPA, be employed full or part-time, and be US citizens. This scholarship was started in 2017 by Ride for Tank, Inc. This scholarship is in memory of Justin Retherford-Speer, an Oswego High School student from the class of 2014 and student of Waubonsee Community College Automotive Technology Program from 2014-2016. Justin lost his life in a motorcycle accident on August 4, 2016. This scholarship is to keep his legacy alive. The scholarship may cover all or part of tuition and required course fees and may also provide support for required books for credit courses.
