Marion M. and Les Lester Endowed Scholarship

The Marion M. and Les Lester Endowed Scholarship is open to returning students who are nursing majors with a preference for students who are veterans or children of veterans (must submit copy of DD214). Les Lester, Second District Grand Cheminot Passe of the Forty and Eight, an honor society of the American Legion, instituted these awards in honor of his wife, Marion, following her death in 1996. Mr. Lester passed away in September 2005 and left a significant endowment to the Waubonsee Community College Foundation, thereby making it possible to award multiple scholarships each year. The scholarship may cover all or part of tuition and required course fees and may also provide support for required books for credit courses.
