Katharine S. Richards Memorial Scholarship

The Katharine S. Richards Memorial Scholarship is open to students who are a single mothers. This scholarship was established in 2018 in memory of Katharine S. Richards, who worked for Waubonsee Community College as the Director of Fund Development from 2004 to 2014 where she led fundraising efforts to support the Waubonsee Community College Foundation scholarship program. With her passing, her family wants to continue her legacy of supporting students as they pursue their dreams of higher education. They have established this scholarship in her name – the Katharine S. Richards Memorial Scholarship – to support single mothers, a significant demographic for Waubonsee’s student population and a group that was important to Kathy. The scholarship may cover all or part of tuition and required course fees and may also provide support for required books for credit courses.
